Funeral service for Patricia Anne Thing Bearden, 76, will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Officiating will be The Rev. Dr. Tony Metze. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel.

Mrs. Bearden passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017. Born in Asheville, NC, she was daughter of the late Wilbur Wentworth Thing and Elmarene Fuller Thing. She was the wife of the late Edward L. Bearden. Mrs. Bearden was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, volunteered in various capacities, and was a longtime member of the her Women’s Circle Group. She was a 1965 graduate of Columbia Hospital School of Nursing, where she practiced and later taught psychiatric nursing. Following retirement, she dedicated her time and love to her husband, raising her daughters, and taking care of her family.



She is survived by her daughters, Laura Anne Bearden, Kristen Bearden Nagorniak; grandchildren, David Edward Nagorniak, Ana Marie Nagorniak; sister, Jeanie York; cousins Charles Pfaff and John Pfaff.
