Graveside service for Betty Brown Moss, 84, will be held at 3:30 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Spartanburg, SC, Saturday, September 16, 2017. The family will also receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until noon, on Saturday the 16th, at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, Irmo, SC. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo, is assisting the family.

Mrs. Moss passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017, in Agape Hospice House in Columbia, SC. Born in Spartanburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late Tyler V. “T.V.” Brown and Dollie Victoria King Brown. She retired from Wachovia Bank as Sr. Executive Vice President of Operations for South Carolina, having lived in Anderson, Greenville and Columbia during her banking career. Mrs. Moss was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church and the Dorcus Sunday School Class. Known her whole life for her determination, hard work and creative spirit, Mrs. Moss spent a lifetime sharing her love of family, her interest in family history and her expert seamstress and design skills. Her family and friends benefitted from her artistic creativity, historic research and family outreach.



Surviving are her children, James Dennis Moss and Carol Moss Iverson (Paul) of Chapin, SC; grandchildren, Natalie Blake Ropp (Chris) of Summerville, SC and Jonathan Michael Blake of Columbia, SC; great-grandchildren, Holland Michael Ropp and Grayson Christopher Ropp of Summerville, SC. She is also survived by brother Dwight E. Brown of Marietta, GA, and sister-in-law Gladys C. Brown (Milton) of Stockbridge, GA. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Brown Caldwell and Martha Brown Birtles, and by two brothers, Milton V. Brown and Carroll Dean Brown.



In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Riverland Hills Baptist Church in Irmo, SC.
